Returning for My Brother

A Spiritual Workshop for Veterans
March 17-21, 2010

Finding Freedom After War: Save a Life, Save a Family

The Farm of Peace is offering a spiritual retreat for all veterans to find freedom in life after their war experiences. If you are a veteran or know someone who is, this retreat may open the door for you to heal.

We will help identify a path to recovery for veterans and their families.  We will introduce spiritual healing as a means to transform rage to hope, and hope to peace and love.

The session’s workshops will include:
-Introduction to the practice of Remembrance
-Writing from the heart
-Journey through art
-An introduction to alternative healing modalities: medical qi gong, massage, acupuncture, cupping
-An introduction to the healing benefits of herbs

The methods used above will address:
-Sleep disorders
-Depression
-Rage and other signs and symptoms associated with stress

This retreat is based on Bob Driscoll’s book, Returning for My Brother, soon to be published.  In his book, Bob, a Vietnam veteran, relates his journey to heal the PTSD he experienced since returning from war in 1968.  You can read the Prologue to the book here.

Robert (Reuben) Driscoll, together with Salima Adelstein, master spiritual healer, Sufi teacher and faculty member of the University of Spiritual Healing & Sufism, will lead the retreat along with a team of experienced healers and teachers.

This retreat aims to help veterans find a path to heal themselves first and move from experiencing the dark inner enemy to the freedom and inner light of God.

There is a life and light at the end of the tunnel and the first step to take is yours.
